Car Rental – major world-wide car rental companies are represented in Bratislava (Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt). In addition there are a number of smaller local companies.

Dental Services – dentists in Bratislava are relatively cheap by Western European standards

Electric Outlets – Slovakia uses 220 V AC power outlets with two-pronged plugs and an optional hole prevalent in most of Western Europe. Adapters are required for UK plugs and US devices, which also require a special transformer unless they have adapters for dual voltage.

Internet Cafés – there are many internet cafes around Bratislava, as well as free public wifi hotspots

Laundry Facilities – the first large-scale self-service laundromat named Flipper Wash opened in late 2007 at Jamnickeho 1 at the Dlhe Diely. It is open seven days a week, offering washing from € 2.80 per load and drying for € 0.20 for every 5 minutes. Laundry services are also offered in some hostels at a charge. Dry-cleaning services are widely available and some also offer laundering, although the charges can be quite high.

Medical Services – medical services are available with quality comparable to Western standards, although some public facilities are in a poor shape. See partial list here.

Money Exchange – the official currency is the Euro (as of January 1, 2009). 

Police Registration – depending on visa status, foreigners staying over one month or three months are required to register with the Foreigners‘ Police.

Religious Services – in English are available for both Catholics and Protestants
