Bratislava, November 23, 2004 (BratislavaGuide.com) – International Film Festival in Bratislava was established in 1999. Starting as a small festival with few screens and some hundreds of visitors it later became major cultural happening hosting thousands of guests each year. International Film Festival Bratislava has also changed location since its opening year. Firstly organized in Istropolis congress centre, then moved to newly opened shopping mall Polus City Centre and its multiplex cinemas. It moved again last year, this time to Aupark shopping mall, utilizing it’s close to city centre location and good public transport connections.
The festival is divided into the categories, we list some interesting ones: International competition of movies, European film, Zoom: unknown cinema, Profile of important film creator, Short movies. This year’s „Zoom: unknown cinema“ section features Icelandic movies including those of Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and some other younger and not-so-famous filmmakers from Iceland.
